At JPG Wealth our Investment Planning Services include building a personalized investment portfolio comprised of a mixture of investments that is specific to client financial goals and values, risk tolerance, their personal financial situation, and their time horizon. The investment strategy we adhere to separates your assets within your account between “core” investments and “satellite” investments depending on the client’s goals and individual financial situation. Depending on the client’s goals and personal financial situation the mix can range from 100% “core” to 100% “satellite”.
- The assets considered “core” investments are purchased with the intention to “buy and hold” and offer a risk-based asset allocation model, which we adjust 3-8 times per year, each time maintaining our asset allocation. These investments are generally value based, thus designed to provide consistent returns through higher dividends and long-term price appreciation.
- The assets considered “satellite” investments are designed to follow more of a “tactical” strategy that is designed to take advantage of relative market movements of asset classes which provide opportunities to exploit temporary inefficiencies within the context of the asset allocation parameters. In other words these investments go after higher returns and are therefore generally higher risk. Since these investments generally contain both higher returns and risk they are reallocated at least quarterly with the flexibility to get completely out of the markets and into cash in an effort to avoid bearish markets.
We believe this strategy of diversification in both the “core” and “satellite” investments along with the diversification of dividing your investments amongst “core” and “satellite” investment plans increases your return while significantly lowering your risk.
Our investment planning process will help us determine the mix of “core” and “satellite” investments within your portfolio that will help you achieve your financial goals.
